Prevelo Zulu 4 Review (2020/2021)

Prevelo has been refining this bike almost every year. The 2020/2021 version gets improved stand-over, slacker Head Angle and upgraded wheelset/tires. For a little bike company to redesign and improve yearly for a kids bike shows the passion and execution of this awesome kids brand. Thanks to Prevelo for providing a test bike.

The Bike Dads' Take:

"This bike is an absolute hard charging 24 inch hardtail! This is a machine you will be debating with full suspension bikes because of how capable it is. Pushing the boundaries, we see a 10-51T twelve speed drivetrain, an amazing  light weight tubeless wheelset/tire combo, perfect 140 mm cranks and geometry to smash down descending trails. The more value build is a great deal and offers the same DNA...climb up to smash down." -Colin

I’m trying to decide between the spawn yama jama, prevelo Zulu 4 heir and the trailcraft spawn. My son is pretty light (50 LBS 4’2″) and we bike mostly Colorado front range trails. Any thoughts on how these wound compare? Thanks

Very similar bikes. The Zulu 4 is a little slacker/longer so will be more stable descender and has more gearing range. The Spawn will be quicker turning and more lively, better in a skills bike park/dirt jump/pump track environment but also very good on the trails. Same great fork on both.
