Press Release: Patrol announces kids carbon hardtails

Yes! We made carbon bikes for kids!

Swap the screen for some singletrack with the all-new Carbon kids' range from Patrol Mountain. Young riders like to shred as hard, ride as far and explore as much as adults do, so it makes sense to us that your little shredder should be on a bike that they're completely comfortable with. The new range of carbon kids bikes from Patrol has been designed to be lightweight, durable, easy to ride, but above all, fun. Using our custom-designed carbon frame and hand-picked, kid- friendly components, we can guarantee you haven't seen bikes like these before.

Lightweight
Weight is always a concern with a child's bike. Not only does it have to be lightweight for your young rider to easily manoeuvre, but also light enough for mum and dad to carry when your young gun gets tired of ripping.

Disc Brakes
Young riders don't have the strength to come to a stop running rim brakes. Powerful disc brakes are safe, more reliable and help to develop confidence on faster trails.

Suspension
We've chosen suspension that is child-specific, this means that the forks on the C020 and C024 will actually work under the weight of your child. These aren't adult forks trimmed down, but components designed from the ground up for children to ride on.

Have you seen a weight for the CO24 and CO24S? I’m unable to find one.

What do you make of this carbon CO20 bike weighing in above a Prevelo Zulu 3, or Zulu 3 Heir, and costing more? I feel like I might be missing something. It’s clearly a well spec’d trail bike, but I’m amazed they aren’t really in the running for the lightest bikes in the category…

Zulu vs CO20 has me scratching my head. How do you see it?
    ~21lbs vs ~23lbs(purported)
66 vs 67.5 head tube angle
    120 vs 140mm crank arms
    21.5″ vs ~23″ standover
aluminum vs carbon durability to a kid

It’s a clear win for the Prevelo. Unfortunately, in places like Australia, good kids bikes are limited and CO20 may be your only decent option with stock.
