Like all the best breakfast cereals, our all-new Fern Dropper Post is specifically designed for the kiddos. Capitalizing on the reliability and ease of our standard droppers, the Fern simply requires less weight and effort to drop that saddle and get rowdy in the dirt.
KIDS CARTRIDGE
PINT SIZE PRESSURE
Standard dropper posts require too much body weight to drop the saddle and too much force to actuate the lever – so even if your tot is eating their Wheaties every morning, they’re left out of the same benefits we all enjoy from adding a dropper to our rides. Our all-new Fern Dropper Post tackles this issue with a specifically designed cartridge to operate at lower pressures.
BUILT TO LAST
FROM BIKE TO BIKE
Unlike last year’s shoes, the Fern’s 27.2 diameter and external cable routing ensures your kiddo won’t be growing out of this post in one season. Plus, the Fern uses all the same technology and design from our reliable line of Pine Droppers, which are known for their durability, meaning this post is meant to last.
EASY LEVER ACTUATION
PRESS PLAY
We took our notes from real life parents who told us a typical dropper requires too much effort for small hands to actuate. The low pressure cartridge in the Fern tackles this problem by requiring less force to get the dropper to move up and down. This means you can pair this post with any of our levers and get the same drop, with less effort.

I much prefer a dropper that goes as far down as possible like the Oneup. Kids doing downhill and rough terrain need the extra leg clearance. An extra second before the downhill to adjust the seat post is not worth the loss of safety due to leg clearance. For little kids every inch counts.
As on our page dedicated to seat posts, the oneup doesn’t work for light weight riders like this post. Your average 5-9 year old won’t get a oneup down with their weight. Love the adjustability and ability to shim but best for the older kids who have some weigh to drop the post. If I have to push the post down by hand, I’de just keep a quick release on with regular post and save weight and money.
