Every summer the world mountain bike community flocks to Whistler Canada to celebrate all things biking! The ten days of the festival are jammed pack with mountain bike competition and spectacle. In recent years the Whistler organizers have created Kidsworx, a series of kid events to let the little ones join the action and be a part of the show. We headed up last year and had a blast!
Most think of Whistler as winter destination but the secret is out in the mountain bike community. A very friendly bike town, paths and trails link the whole of the whistler valley letting you park the car and enjoy the resort on bike with the family. The various lakes are warm enough in July and August to swim and other activities like ATV’s, Bungee Jumping, white water rafting, glacier skiing/riding and zip-lining are at your doorstep. Another benefit of the summer season is the reasonable prices of hotels and condos compared to the ski season. And with a low value Canadian dollar, 2016 is shaping up to be a really good deal.
