Islabikes exude quality and craftsmanship. This UK brand made its way to the US a few years ago and started the stampede of quality kids bike manufactures. They saw the need early and have flushed out a line of kids bikes that even the most discerning Mom and Dad bike snob can be amazed by. Thanks to Isla Bikes for providing the Beinn 24 for us to try.

The Bike Dads' Take:
"With such a low stand-over height in a 24 inch bike, the jump from 20 inch wheels is amazing for our 6 year old. The larger diameter wheels allow for longer rides at faster speeds. This bike quickly became our go to school whip as it got us there in record time. With everything scaled to fit kids perfectly and a sub 20 lbs package, there is no wonder why this bike is so popular. The brand that started this kids specific genre, I remember seeing my first Isla just after my first son was born 6.5 years ago and thinking...it can be done, kids bikes can be amazing! At $650 USD you are paying a premium to other brands but rest assured you are getting one of the best bikes in this 24 inch fully rigid hybrid category." -Colin
We’ve been lucky to have Islabikes here in the UK for over 11 years now. Whilst at the higher end of the price range, they really are built to last. The UK now has a very strong resale market in second hand Islabikes, with well maintained bikes selling for not far below the retail price. Well worth the investment if you can afford the initial outlay
