BMX FREESTYLE
We love mountain bikes but there is no denying a BMX bike for kids may be just the ticket for non-trail adventuring (skate park, neighborhood riding, driveway jump sessions). One bike has increasingly caught our eye in the world of BMX freestyle so much we bought a couple of them. Instagram feeds and local skateparks are being lit up with 4 to 14 year olds flowing lines, dropping ledges and picking air. Cult's Juvenile bikes are often the bikes taking kids to this next level of bike skill. A lot of fun in a small package.

I would love a full downhill bike that
Is a small in kids and has 27in tires for under $1900
Keep in mind that if you want your kid to do BMX racing, they need 20in wheels to satisfy regulation.
Hi, your thoughts on getting a bmx as a second bike? My son is 8 and is on a Prevelo 24 Heir for trail rides. But it’s a bit too much for him to handle for practicing skills (manuals, jumps, etc) I was thinking of getting him a BMX for this purpose, other option is to just get bigger tires and a riser bar for his islabikes beinn20. Your thoughts on skills learned on a bmx translating to the trial?
They are amazing for skill development, probably the best thing actually. Just get a light weight one that is the right size. Probably a 16 inch maybe an 18 if he is riding a 24 MTB.
Thanks for the reply! having a hard time finding a lightweight one. The Cult you recommend appears to be out of stock, but I am looking at a used Colony Inception 18 inch that looks to be 22lbs. Thanks again!
Thanks! they are surprisingly heavy for such small bikes, I am looking at a used 18 in Colony Inception that looks to be 22lbs. Thanks again!
22 lbs is pretty good…
